Marla's Biography
Born 12th of december 1980 Marla Sokoloff had the dream of becomming an actress and to appear on TV for just one time. Although most of her family are working in the kitchen by their profession Marla knew that she did not belong to there, she was 4 years old then. Instead she loved to be in the bathroom and sing in front of the mirror. But that is just the beginning of her career. At the age of 7 years she appeared for the first time in a school performance. She received much support by her family so her mother gave up her little restaurant for managing her daughter and she was also tought singing. 1991/92 Marla had the honour of singing the national athem befor the basketball match of the Oakland A's vs. the USO.
One year later, in 1993, Marla and her mother drove to Los Angeles in order to audition there. On "Full House" she finally had her first TV appereance. Marla played the character Gia Mahan. Now the ball was rolling and there where further guest appereances on "Step by Step", "Boy Meets World", "Party of Five" and so on. Her first movie was "The Babysitter Club". In september 1998 she joined "The Practice" at the age of 17. But there where also some spectators who did not like the new one alias Lucy Hatcher.
After joining the cast of ABC's much lauded David E. Kelley series The Practice in 1998 as Lucy, a receptionist with attitude, she soon began landing starring roles in teen comedies. The pretty object of various bumbling affections in the adolescent Cyrano de Bergerac retread Whatever It Takes (2000) and the stoner comedy Dude, Where's My Car? (2000), Sokoloff was poised to take center stage in the cheerleader-turned-bank robber romp Sugar & Spice (2001).
